Organizations & People that Rock!

Oak Tree Coaching

Oak Tree Coaching's coach-consultants are credentialed and have a proven track record in coaching successful business leaders to even better results. Martha is proud to serve on Oak Tree Coaching's international team of coaches.

Women's Mentor Network
A unique organization that fosters women helping women through mentoring. WMN is a community of women who want to share their experience, knowledge, talent and resources with other women to help them succeed personally and professionally. I believe in this organization and am honored to have been selected as one of the premier coaches in the WMN Coach Academy.

E-zine Queen
One of the best and most proven ways to increase business is to gain status as an *expert* or *resource* in your field. And one of the easiest, most effective, and least expensive ways to do this is to publish an E-ZINE (or "e-mail newsletter"). I have more than 20 years of experience with newsletters and other publications, and I continue to be delighted and amazed by the new tips and techniques that Alexandria Brown, "The E-zine Queen," comes up with. Check out her "Boost Business With Your Own E-Zine" manual, and her other many resources.

AWeber
If you send out regular correspondence -- an ezine, notices to your customers, sales letters, etc. -- check out AWeber. This is a terrific autoresponder that has many "set it and forget it" features to make your life easier. I swear by it for my ezine distribution and follow-up notices. Visit the AWeber website for a demo.

The Coaches Training Institute
When I researched all the possible coach training programs available, I narrowed my search down to just those institutions accredited by the International Coach Federation, and among those, CTI's co-active coaching program stood out as the premiere choice for me. The training weekends were transformative for me, not only professionally, but personally.

My House
"My House" is a long-term transitional home, based in Atlanta, for infants who are ready to be ready to be released from the hospital but have special needs (including drug addiction passed on from the birth mother) and are without families. "My House" takes these sweet babies into a loving, warm, home-like setting where they get a lot of love and support until a permanent arrangement can be made. Please consider supporting them so they can continue to grow and provide this service to more babies. Visit their website to learn how you can help.

Kitty Morel, Meditation Teacher
I had dabbled with meditation, but never took it too seriously until I met Kitty, who taught me about Primordial Sound Meditation, a practice developed by Dr. Deepak Chopra. Kitty is certified by Dr. Chopra and Infinite Possibilities Knowledge as a Primordial Sound Meditation instructor. She embodies peace of mind and spirituality in a way that engaged me in learning this very simple, but powerful, method of meditation. Learn more about Primordial Sound Meditation.

Radiant Recovery
This program heals sugar sensitivity and sugar addiction. Feel free to ask me about my experience with this powerful program, and if you feel the term "sugar sensitivity" rings a bell for you, check out the Radiant Recovery website ASAP!

Books & Music that I Love

E-Myth Revisited: Why Most Small Businesses Don't Work and What to do About It, by Michael Gerber... A phenomenal process to help you make the transition from excellent technician (coach, engineer, architect, accountant...) to savvy business owner. A must read for any serious entrepreneur!

Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister by Gregory Maguire... This book is a blast! It is the story of Cinderella, told from the perspective of one of the stepsisters.

cover

Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott... My favorite book on writing. A fun read and it revolutionized my own writing!

cover

Traveling Mercies by Anne Lamott... A witty, irreverent and poignant peak into one woman's spiritual journey.
cover Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life: How to Use Feng Shui to Get Love, Money, Respect and Happiness by Karen Rauch Carter
... My favorite Feng Shui book, because it is easy to read, very practical and concrete, has examples. I used one idea from this book and got two new clients the next day! Can't beat that!

 cover

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee... Okay, if I could write just one novel in my lifetime, I hope it is of the caliber of this amazing classic!
cover Good to Great by Jim Collins... A clear and concise look at the management style and leadership models that create great companies. A must for any business owner.
cover The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron... A life-changing program, and you don't even have to be an "artist" to incorporate these soul fulfilling concepts into your life.
cover Potatoes Not Prozac by Kathleen DesMaisons, PhD... A great resource for learning the theory behind sugar sensitivity.

cover The Sugar Addict's Total Recovery Program by Kathleen DesMaisons, PhD... The ultimate how-to guide for healing sugar addiction.

Jana Stanfield Check out Jana's website for some very inspirational and moving music. You will soon be a groupie like me! Her "Listen For the Whisper" has been a cornerstone of wisdom for my life. (It's on her CD titled "I'm Not Lost I Am Exploring."
cover 16 Greatest Hits by Rosemary Clooney... I have been a fan of Rosie, the incomparable "girl singer" from the big band era, since I was just a young'un in the 70s. What a thrill to see her regain popularity over the years. This is a great "starter" CD if you are Rosie-curious, chock-full of her most popular hits. You'll be hooked!

Animals & Pets - Who Can Resist?

First Light Eagle Cam
This nest-cam is perched over an Eagle's nest in Massachusetts, U.S. It does seem a little rude to pry into the lives of this young Eagle family, but I'm hoping that they don't notice so much....  New eaglets hatched in early April 2007. They are cute, cute, cute!  If you are lucky, you'll catch Mom & Dad bringing a big fish into the nest to feed their young chicks. Soon, we'll see the chicks get larger and larger... testing out their wings... and then, off they will go.  If you miss the Spring nesting season, you can still check out the 2007 picture gallery for stills.
